Our group is named after the bizarre rackett, a renaissance woodwind instrument with a large double reed and a narrow, but very long, cylindrical bore folded nine times within the body of the instrument. The rackett produces a deep, buzzy, snarling sound. It is soft in volume but projects well because of the buzziness.
